Rescued a sick pelican from the dogs on the lagoon at low tide…
A juvenile, weak but otherwise healthy looking… May have been tangled in fishing gear and starved for a while before escaping… It’s now in the care of Sandrine who is going to try feeding it today.
The storm shutters are mostly finished, need a few more hinges, some latches, and some side shutters, but serviceable. A big wind/rainstorm blew in at 5pm, it took the three of us to hold the shutters shut. I was able to quickly install two pins to keep it closed.

Pics of some rainy season clouds (big thunderstorms forming); most go inland of us and hit Leon.
Jules and I woke up to a huge thunderstorm late last night… Great lightning.
And, Julien having a surf lesson….
Some panoramas, original size is huge… Don’t know how they will load, be patient…
Boys playing together, animals chilling in the heat (34 celsius, 90% humidity)
A really big seabass caught on a longline (from a local 6m Barca (open fishing boat))… About 180kg.

Reblogged from The Therapy Book:
The news about a study that those in Britain are far healthier than their American cousins comes as no surprise to those who’ve been monitoring developments with genetically modified crops or GMOs.
GMO crops are not allowed to be grown in Britain and food containing GMOs are banned from sale. By contrast, in the States, GMOs are in many foods with some farmers being strong-armed into only growing GM varieties.
